Music in Spanish dresses up in Tenerife! Dial Awards celebrate 30 years with a stellar lineup
Leire Martínez repeats as presenter on a night that promises surprises and tributes to legends such as Ana Torroja and Mónica Naranjo
The Dial Tenerife Awards are gearing up for their 30th edition, a milestone that they will celebrate in style on March 12 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The event, established as a benchmark in the promotion of music in Spanish, has revealed a list of winners that promises an unforgettable night. The singer Leire Martínez, who repeats as master of ceremonies, will also receive her first solo Dial Award.
The list of winners is a veritable who's who of the Spanish-speaking music scene. From the incombustible Laura Pausini to the young talent of Nil Moliner, passing through established figures such as Sergio Dalma and Pablo López, the gala will bring together artists of different generations and styles. Amaral, Café Quijano, Ezio Oliva, Marta Sánchez, Funambulista, Antoñito Molina, Depol, Antonio José, Merche and Kany García complete the list of winners.
But the night will not only be dedicated to recognizing current talent. The Dial Awards will also pay well-deserved tribute to the careers of four icons of Spanish music: Ana Torroja, Luz Casal, Mónica Naranjo and Antonio Carmona. Four solid and successful careers that have marked several generations and continue to inspire new artists. A recognition of his legacy and his contribution to the musical culture of our country.
The organization has promised surprises and unique moments throughout the gala. One of them will be the performance of Nueva Línea, the Canarian group that has revolutionized TikTok with its fresh and catchy music. It will be his debut in an event of this nature, an opportunity to show his talent to a wider audience and consolidate his meteoric rise.
Jaume Serra, general director of Radio and Audiovisual Business at PRISA Media, has highlighted the importance of radio as a support platform for music in Spanish. “Radio is a community that unites people to share emotions, and at Dial we have been creating this family between artists, listeners and the radio itself for four decades,” he stated during the press conference to present the event.
For his part, Vicent Argudo, Music Director of PRISA Media, has announced some of the new features of this special edition. “This year there will be two musical moments that will happen in very special places on the island. They will be practically a surprise, a unique opportunity for the public to get closer to the artists.” In addition, meetings will be organized between professionals, artists and the radio to analyze the current situation of music in Spanish.
The artists themselves have highlighted the importance of a platform like Dial continuing to promote the connection between them and their audience. Leire Martínez has pointed out that “great artists like those who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award have become essential references who have opened many doors for women like me to be here today.” Ana Torroja, for her part, highlighted that “Dial has been home for 40 years, when we started almost at the same time.”
Mónica Naranjo, immersed in her 'Greatest Hits Tour', has confessed that “everything I have experienced in these thirty years has been a gift, it is very gratifying to see how your music is part of the soundtrack of so many human beings.” Ezio Oliva, the award-winning Peruvian singer, stated that “it is an honor to be part of these important awards around the world, representing an artist from Peru for the first time.”
Tenerife, which is again hosting the Dial Awards, is preparing to welcome the artists and thousands of fans of music in Spanish. Rosa Dávila, president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, has highlighted the “special bond that exists on the island, which serves as a bridge for much music from Latin America.” Lope Afonso, Vice President and Minister of Tourism, added that “this relationship puts the Spanish accent on what unites us and also serves to grow towards the entire Spanish-speaking market.”
In addition to the musical show, the Dial Tenerife Awards also have a social component. Part of the proceeds from the event will go to the Canarian Aldis Foundation, an entity that works to improve the quality of life of children and young people with functional diversity and their families. A solidarity initiative that demonstrates the commitment of the Dial Awards to society.
Tickets to enjoy the 30th anniversary of the Dial Tenerife Awards live are now on sale on the Dial website. A unique opportunity to live a magical night surrounded by the stars of Spanish music and celebrate three decades of success.
